Challenger Drilling

The recent shoot for Anaconda Drilling ( now Challenger Drilling ) required a mixture of portraits of company employees, work and process photos and images of individual pieces of drilling equipment. We will be finishing up work on the bulk of the images next week, but couldn’t help pulling out one of our favorites to share with you early.
Executive Portraits

New Work – PWS and Wilson Art

Vellum recently finished up a project comissioned by Portable Welding Service, who was working to rebuild a massive laminate press at the Wilson Art plant in Fletcher, Nc. The shoot required industrial photography, video and time lapses, some of which will be featured here on the blog once production is finished. Portable Welding Service is one of the only companies in the world with experience rebuilding these presses, and PWS and the engineering team have worked internationally on similar jobs for years. Some of the portraits produced of the press itself (image 1) and of the PWS and engineering team are below.
New Portraits by Vellum Industrial Photography

Vellum has been producing a number of portraits lately, and we wanted to share a few of our latest and greatest. We are also looking forward to updating the blog next week from a large shoot involving three different comapnies in Western North Carolina. One of the many reasons we are excited about this project is that the client, in addition to still photography, also needed several video projects produced. As soon as production on the shoot finishes up we’ll make sure to give you a peek here on the Vellum industrial photography blog.
Personal Work

While Vellum’s team stays extremely busy producing work for their industrial clients, they also juggle the occasional commercial photography job for clients outside of Vellum’s industrial focus. Since shooting and producing personal work is highly valued at Vellum, we wanted to feature one of those images here. This image was produced for a large series of posters and media guides for the University of Kentucky lacrosse team.
While not directly related to industrial photography, we look forward to having the opportunity to produce similar images for our industrial photography clients.
Portrait Shoot – PHI Air Medical Team

Vellum Industrial Photography just finished up production on a portrait shoot with the PHI Air Medical Team based in Lexington, Ky. The professionals at PHI Air Medical make up an elite and critical piece of the community emergency response team. The highly-trained employees are among the finest, most compassionate professionals in the industry, and were the first company to receive the prestigious Vision Zero Aviation Safety Award.
The three images featured below are only a few of a much larger group of images produced for the flight team in Lexington. It was a large shoot, involving two assistants and up to ten flashes some some of the images.
