Vellum‘s Director of Operations, Jonathan D. Woods, recently produced a video highlighting Iowa’s passionate snowmobiling community for the Cedar Rapids Gazette, an eastern Iowa newspaper.  We’re excited about this video for a number of reasons, one of which is that it was shot entirely on Canon’s new 5D Mark ll camera body.  This camera is the future of both video and still photography, enabling photographers/videographers to shoot remarkable HD video footage and produce an exceptionally high quality still image all with the same camera body.

Mine Shoot

More from this shoot will be online soon, including video, but for now we wanted to post a frame from an blasting operation in Kentucky that was being prepared for use of the Terex SHM Miner, the most advanced, reliable, and efficient highwall mining system in the world. The SHM Miner is the first practical highwall mining system capable of coal mining parallel entries to predetermined depths while linking surface and underground operations to maximize coal recovery and profits.

Schebler operates four distinct divisions: Chimney Systems, Food Equipment, Specialty Fabrication and residential/commercial Heating and Cooling Solutions.  Schebler’s products can be found in Yankee Stadium, Rockefeller Center and Trump Tower/Chicago; at Caesar’s Palace, Harvard University, St. Jude’s Hospital and Disney World; inside Brach’s Confections and McKee Foods Corporation; and in countless fabrications for companies like John Deere and many others.

New Work: Portable Welding Service

We recently completed and launched the new web presence for North Carolina based Portable Welding Service, Inc.  Vellum was approached by Portable Welding Service, an industrial subcontractor, to create their web presence as the company transitioned from an older, static site to a more dynamic Flash based presence. Prior to their site development, PWS was one of Vellum’s earliest photographic clients and we are happy to have continued working relationship with this outstanding company.  To view the new Portable Welding Service site please click HERE.
